The South Carolina Heart Gallery was established in 2005.
Hundreds of foster children in the custody of the South Carolina Department of
Social Services are legally free for adoption. In a collaborative effort to locate
permanent adoptive homes, Heart Gallery photographers volunteer their time and
talents to create unique portraits showcasing these children. The portraits are
displayed at various locations around the state in order to raise public awareness.
