Through a grant provided by Junior League of Greenville, the Greenville County
Foster Parent Association is providing Creative Memories Lifebooks to 400 foster
care children in Greenville county. Lifebooks are similar to scrapbooks, but
are more therapuetic for our foster care children. Lifebooks are portable and
can go with the child as the child moves within the foster care system or is able
to return to biological family. They help to piece together the many pieces of
a foster child's life such as biological family and friends, foster care family
and friends, homes they have lived in and schools they have attended. Lifebooks
help foster care children hold onto who they are and be able to remember where
they have come from and reach to where they wish to go.
If you would like to contribute to this project we are always in need of scrapbook
supplies such as color paper and stickers. We also provide disposable cameras
to the children and are in need of those as well. To learn more about this project
